Detroit Zoo's Holiday Cheer Event

We had a blast at the Detroit Zoo "Wild Beasts, Wild Wine" event this summer, as you can tell by reading this post from July. If you are looking for a fun adult night out for the holidays don't miss this up coming event.
Raise a glass of holiday cheer at the Detroit Zoo's "Holiday Cheer at Wild Lights" on Thursday, December 12, 2013, 6 to 10 p.m. The 21-and-over event will allow guests to enjoy specialty holiday drinks while viewing the Zoo’s spectacular holiday light display.  More than two million twinkling LED lights will brighten the evening sky and illuminate buildings, animal sculptures and trees on a half-mile trail through the front of the Zoo.

Holiday Cheer tickets are $40 and include Detroit Zoo admission, parking, admission to the Wild Adventure Zone’s 4-D Theater to see the “The Polar Express 4-D Experience” and three specialty holiday beverages, wine, or beer. Concessions will be open and additional drink tickets will be available for purchase. Tickets are available at Window One at the front of the Zoo, online at www.detroitzoo.org or at the gate the night of the event (if not sold out).

Designated Driver (DD) tickets are available up to the night of the event for $25 and include Zoo admission, admission to the Wild Adventure Zone’s 4-D Theater to see the “The Polar Express 4-D Experience”, parking and unlimited soft drinks and hot cocoa. DD ticket holders are not permitted to consume alcohol at the event.

“The Polar Express 4-D Experience” is a 14-minute film featuring Tom Hanks. It tells the tale of a doubting young boy who takes a train ride to the North Pole and discovers that the wonder of life never fades for those who believe.
