#YardBirdCool I received something of value from Yardbird Smoked Meats in exchange for this post. All opinions are 100% my own.
If you know me, you would know that one of my favorite things to do is to try new restaurants. There is something exciting about trying out new food. One of my favorite foods is ribs. I was very excited to check out Yardbird Smoked Meats.

When you walk in you immediately smell the wonderful aroma of the smoker hard at work. Yardbird Smoked Meats is in a cozy little location in Keego Harbor, Michigan. Just because it's cozy doesn't mean it's not happening. This place was packed for a Tuesday evening. The decor is pretty modest. I did like how the bathroom was decorated with fence posts in the stalls.

So let's talk food! That's the important part. To Kick It Off (appetizers) we had the Yard Chips, which are featured top left above, and the Parmesan Tots. The Yard Chips were excellent. I'm not sure if we had the pulled chicken or pork but either way it was really tasty. Whatever BBQ sauce comes on the Yard Chips is excellent. The Parmesan Tots come with a green chili ranch dipping sauce. I thought they were okay, but a little bland.

Next, we tried some smoked meats and sides. On each table there are many different BBQ sauces and mustards. So which one you choose to apply to your smoked meat is completely up to you. The top right picture shows our meats. We tried the pork, brisket, and sausage sampler. I thought it was so-so. The ribs were a tad dry. For the sides we had Mac & Cheese, Cornbread, Bacon Dog Pit Beans, Fried Green Tomatoes & Green Bean Casserole. I'm not a bean fan, so I didn't try them. I fell head over heals in love with the Mac & Cheese. The noodles were spiral shaped, super creamy, and had a kick to them. So good! The cornbread was also decent.

Finally my favorite course, the Yardbird calls it "Saweets". For dessert we received Bourbon Butterscotch Pudding. First, let me mention that I'm not a big butterscotch fan. Oh, was this pudding a pure heavenly sensation. It was whipped beyond perfection and tasted like you were eating a sweet, buttery, pudding. So good! Okay, good is not the correct word delightful is more like it. Simply delightful.

Would I recommend Yardbird Smoked Meats? Yes, I would go back in a heartbeat for more Bourbon Butterscotch Pudding and Mac & Cheese. You need to go try it for yourself and tell me what you think.
