About Minions:
The story of Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment’s Minions begins at the dawn of time. Starting as single-celled yellow organisms, Minions evolve through the ages, perpetually serving the most despicable of masters. After accidentally killing off so many of them—from T. rex to Napoleon—the Minions find themselves without a master to serve and fall into a deep depression.

But one Minion named Kevin has a plan, and he—alongside teenage rebel Stuart and lovable little Bob—ventures out into the world to find a new evil boss for his brethren to follow.

The trio embarks upon an adventure that ultimately leads them to their next potential master, Scarlet Overkill (Academy Award® winner Sandra Bullock), the world’s first-ever female super-villain. They travel from frigid Antarctica to 1960s New York City, ending in mod London, where they must face their biggest challenge to date: saving all of Minionkind...from annihilation.

My older daughter won this Minion from a claw machine, so she made sure to bring him along to the movie.
Earlier this week my three children and I saw a prescreening of Minions in 3D. My kids are 17, 12, & 8. They are still talking about all the funny parts of the movie days later. My youngest wants a Minions themed birthday party for her 9th birthday in August. Btw, she loves Bob, the one with the two different colored eyes who holds a teddy bear. My son said he may go to the theater to see it again with his girlfriend. I call that a successful family movie.

Of course, those little Minions are funny. But, I'm not sure I like the villain in this one, Scarlet Overkill, she is a bit too vengeful. I did like the 3D effects, but it would be just as good without the 3D. At 1 hour and 31 minutes I felt it was the perfect length for a kid's movie. It's rated PG so it's appropriate for any age. There was one part where my daughter was a little worried about what would happen next. A Minion looked like he might die, but luckily it had a happy ending. We especially liked seeing Gru at the ending and during the credits. The Despicable Me movies are so well liked that I hope they continue to make more of them. ~ Stephanie
