My girls are my world. I can't even imagine the heartache of losing a child. In Through the Eyes of a Lion, Pastor Levi Lusko takes us through the loss of his 5-year old daughter Lenya, Lion was her nickname. This book isn't all about sadness, it's about finding the Lord to guide you through rough times. It's about finding your purpose. God doesn't always let us take the easy direct route in life. What would be the purpose? We don't grow or blossom by taking the easy route. We grow when we change our thinking.
The Lord took Lenya home 5 days before Christmas. This is what the Lusko family had sent out on their Christmas card prior to her death, unknown that they were going to lose their little angel.
"Jesus has abolished death brought life and immortality to light through the gospel," 2 Timothy 1:10.
Lenya passed away from an asthma attack.
The pain, impossible, God's healing for this family, immeasurable.
Most of us, over the course of our lifetime, suffer incredible pain. God wants us to know that he is there to carry us when we feel like we can't take another step. God helps us find incredible power when facing pain.
"Heaven is a place, like New York or Paris. Untainted by sin and disease, and unspoiled by evil, it is like earth, only better. Heaven is full of laughter and play, eating and drinking, working and exploring-all infused and energized by the presence of God and pulsating with holy wonder."
I don't know about you but when my life here on earth is done, I will be glad to go to my forever home.
Would I recommend Through the Eyes of a Lion? Yes, get it for anyone you know that is facing pain. This book might open their eyes to seeing life a little different. This author, Levi Lusko, tries to keep things cool and light-hearted even with it's such a heavy subject. You can pick up "Through the Eyes of a Lion" from Family Christian.
