The HandleBar Detroit Review

Disclosure: I attended this event for free to facilitate this review. All opinions are 100% my own.
A couple weeks ago I was invited to a blogger event to try out The HandleBar Detroit. Previously, I had noticed it pedaling around downtown Detroit and I was intrigued.
I would recommend it as a fun, unique alternative to other group get-togethers. If you and your friends like biking, exercising, or outdoor activities then this is right up your alley. Although, everyone should enjoy experiencing this group pedal bike at least once. If you have enough people join in then you all don't have to pedal. There are 4 non-pedaling seats.
We had a group of 12 riders, plus our driver, with 10 of us pedaling. Even so in our 2-hour ride, we only made it to 2 bars and a photo opportunity stopping by Comerica Park. Some of the local bars offer drink specials if you say you are on a pedal pub.
Make sure to bring snacks along or eat before you go because you will not have enough time to order food at the bar. Another tip is to only bring with you a clutch, crossbody bag, or small purse since you will be hopping off and back on at each stop. Finally, make sure you have a few tall friends along because only a few of the seats are adjustable for shorties, like me.
The HandleBar is Detroit’s first and only 16-person pedal powered pub on wheels! Grab 15 of your friends and let our company's designated driver navigate as you pedal your way around downtown Detroit, stopping at areas of interest (bars, restaurants, etc) along the way. Bring your own food and drink, crank up the music and enjoy a great time with friends! We do birthdays, bachelorette/bachelor parties, corporate outings and we’re happy to be any excuse you have to get together and have fun!
