A new year is quickly approaching, and so many people are determined to lose weight after the holidays! In old studies, it was believed that people gained 7-10 pounds between Thanksgiving and New Years. In actuality, it's recently been found that people only gain a few pounds. 

Whatever, your rhyme or reason here are my tried and true methods of losing weight and keeping it off. To be completely honest, I'm not stepping on the scale until New Year's is over. Does that mean it's a free for all eating fest? Of course not.

Losing Weight After the Holidays


1. Cut sugar!
2. Drink 8 glasses of water a day.
3. Eat every 3-4 hours.
4. Skip the white processed carbs. Opt for healthy options like Quinoa, Ezekial Bread, or oats.
5. Aim for over a 100 grams of protein a day.
6. Allow yourself one cheat meal a week.
7. Get a least 30 minutes of exercise a day.
8. Take a picture when you start. Don't get on the scale or take another picture for two weeks. You will be amazed at the fat loss.
