It's been a while since I've been on here! Life has been busy. Let's catch up!

1. After three years, Covid finally caught us. We went to Chicago two weeks ago to see a couple of Harry Styles shows. I'm sure all the screaming girls spilled cooties every which way. I caught it first, then K and hubby. We all are testing negative now and free to go our merry ways but, we all are so tired. K says catching it for Harry was totally worth it. I would have to very much disagree with this. I could quickly pass on two nights with Harry.

2. Taking two weeks off heavy weight lifting has driven me crazy. I'm diving back in on Monday. It's peak week which means I'm lifting more than I ever have next week. I'm going to have to give myself some grace because I know after 2 weeks of this my body has been through a war. Slow and steady wins the race. I've been walking in the house most days for 30 minutes to an hour to slowly build back up.

3. Food! I have not been macro counting while I've been sick. It's all about comfort food. I've been living on pasta and things I usually would never eat. I cooked a few pounds of chicken to get back into my routine but I still haven't touched it. That's okay.

4. I've spent most of my time the last two weeks sleeping, playing word games, and reading. Well, I did watch Don't Worry Darling with Keira for the third time. I now really want to buy a bunch of 50's dresses and hold a dinner party. I've spent hours on Modcloth. As soon as I have some energy, I plan on doing just that.

5. Keira and I are adventuring from the house today. I'm sure it will completely wipe us out. We are going to see My Policeman. I don't want to see it, but Keira loved the book and well everything is Harry right now.
Crystalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11531638571585167059noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5721621440177482901.post-56580071756677623842021-08-14T12:38:00.000-04:002021-08-14T12:38:12.692-04:00Music of Star Wars Performed by DSO Review

This blog post is sponsored. I hope you're having a beautiful morning! Let's catch up.

1. This week has been a blur. I seriously have trouble keeping up with my life which is a sign I need to give up something. I recently opened a drop-ship company, and it's just too much with everything else I have going on. How do I come up with these ideas? I'm overwhelmed with what I have, and hey, let's start something else on top of forgetting how busy I already am. I guess the decisions you make on vacation (while relaxing) are not always good ones.

2. I had a break in renters this week, so we spent a couple of days at our beach house. We had a nice time relaxing on the beach (minus the biting flies) also a fabulous dinner with friends.

3. I started the 3 Day Military Diet to get my butt back on track. I still haven't lost the last few pounds from Hawaii, and I felt I needed a total reset. I eat out way too much. I'm not going to lie; the first day was hard. Today is day two, and I'm hoping it will be easier. I should be completely back to normal after my third day. Yep, just in time for dinner with friends!!!

4. My caterpillars are growing like crazy. I have 11 right now. I'm hoping the fat cats will be going into a chrysalis any day. Well, four are getting close. I keep saying I don't want anymore, and when I go outside to get them food, what is on the milkweed? More eggs. Just call me the mother of monarchs. LOL.

5. I finished watching Virgin River last night. It started off so slow this season but picked up. Also, I finished reading the Bookwoman of Troublesome Creek. It was excellent, and we had a wonderful book discussion this week!
Mom Among Chaoshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02365163079333246404noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5721621440177482901.post-73401431367516266422021-07-23T09:51:00.001-04:002021-07-23T09:51:54.130-04:00Music of Star Wars Performed By the Detroit Symphony Orchestra Giveaway

This blog post is sponsored. It's been a while! Let's catch up. I'm up late since I'm still on Hawaiian time and still feel a little off. To describe it best, I feel partially asleep.

1. I'm so glad to be home. Seriously, there is no place like home. The last week of our vacation, we stayed in Kauai. Pretty much every chicken in the area lived outside our condo. It would start every morning before 5 AM and go until the sun went down. To put it mildly, I no longer feel guilty about eating chicken. We had air conditioning units in our bedrooms, but with 50 chickens outside your window, it didn't help much. Oh, and I'm super thankful for air conditioning and cheap groceries!

2. We flew home Monday night. We didn't end up back in Detroit until 6 PM on Tuesday due to the time change. I was all prepared that flying overnight would be terrible, but it wasn't at all. We had one 6 hour flight to Seattle and then another 4 hours home. It was much quicker flying back than going there.

3. We did so much during our 15-day trip. I'm going to write a post about each island we visited. If I ever go back, I would do a few things differently. I was ready to go home after 11 days. I would definitely spend less time in Kauai if I ever go back.

4. This week has been about giving myself grace. After eating everything I wanted for 15 days, I decided a 5-pound weight gain wasn't that bad. So, I've been slowly easing back into my workouts, fasting, and counting my macros. Counting my macros helps me not worry so much about what the scale says.

5. We went to see Black Widow tonight. It was so good! I almost started crying when I left the movie theater. It was crowded, and very few people had a mask on. It also got me thinking about how much this pandemic has changed my life in the last 1.5 years.
Mom Among Chaoshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02365163079333246404noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5721621440177482901.post-6569694783915288732021-06-01T09:47:00.001-04:002021-06-01T09:52:20.874-04:00Cost-Effective Clothing Shopping Online

This blog post is sponsored.

Is Clothes Shopping Online Cost-Effective?

If you love shopping for clothes (and who doesn’t), then you’ll have no doubt spent plenty of time browsing websites and stores for a bargain or two. But you may have noticed that clothes shopping online is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. There’s a lot of choices, but with so many websites, how do you find what you’re looking for at the right price? Let’s look at some of the options available:

Brand and store websites

We all have our favorite brands and labels, don’t we? So, we’ll often be drawn to these when shopping online. But are they a good place to bag a bargain?

Basically, they can be if you know what you’re doing. The first thing to do, is to sign up for their emails. Why? Because although they may clog up your inbox, they’re also the place where you’ll find out about sales and discounts before anyone else. Sales previews are one such perk. When you hit a website for the first time, keep an eye out for those pop-up boxes offering discounts on your first purchases too!

Sales websites and apps

Sales and clearance websites that stock end-of-line or end-of-season clothes are everywhere. And many offer up to 70% off the retail price. However, these are usually limited in size and choice. Plus, it’s always good to check that the price is actually the cheapest on the internet. There are also secret sales websites that sound exclusive and exciting, but they’re just sites that you need to sign up with before accessing their sales offers. Again, these can be limited in terms of products, and sales usually run at extremely specific times. So, you must be ready to shop!

If you don’t want to be chained to dates and times, you could use an app that cleverly tracks the sales happening online. These are handy for filtering out the stuff you’re not interested in and receiving notifications when sales have just started.

Online clothing catalogs

Lastly, can online clothing catalogs save you money? Well, perhaps not, but they are good if you’re only looking for one type of clothing, such as plus size or petite clothing. And they do have one benefit for those struggling to afford new clothes – you can spread the cost of your purchases. These online catalogues with credit offer numerous options such as no credit checks or pay monthly schemes. Of course, some would argue that you’re just racking up more debts.

Mom Among Chaoshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02365163079333246404noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5721621440177482901.post-51308021416279502472021-03-26T07:53:00.001-04:002021-03-26T07:53:30.196-04:005 Things on Friday 3/26/2021

Good morning! It's finally spring, and it was nice to wake up to the sound of rain. Let's catch up!

Here's what I've been up to:

1. Last weekend, I breathed a HUGE sigh of relief. I had my first Covid shot. I had some pretty bad arm soreness, and my heart rate has been higher than normal, which means my body is creating antibodies. I also was a little more tired than normal, but YAY!

2. Matt and I went up north for a few days last weekend. It was really nice. We went out to eat, had dessert, massages, and the weather was fantastic. I couldn't have asked for a better weekend. I did, of course, have work to do while I was up there. I'm still getting the house ready for the rental season.

3. I have been preparing for almost a year and a half to have the rest of my hair turned gray for the rest of my grow-out. I had it done this week. They bleached the rest of my hair and turned it silver. I was astonished that I only had to take an inch and a half off my length. I still have a few more years of trimming and growing it out, but it looks so much better. I have to admit that I was in shock right afterward, and it's taking me a little while to get used to it. I've had mostly dark hair my whole life.

4. I finished reading a fantastic book called The Secret Life of Addie Larue. If you're looking for a good read this is it. It does start off slow but it picks up and becomes interesting. I would have to give it 4.5 out of 5 stars. This is the best book I've read so far this year.

5. K has been on a baking frenzy this week. She made garlic bread from scratch and beignets. Both were really good. I love that she's found some new passions. Doing school online gets lonely for these kids.
Mom Among Chaoshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02365163079333246404noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5721621440177482901.post-62198386375421141472021-03-12T07:25:00.000-05:002021-03-12T07:25:27.405-05:005 Things on Friday 3/12/21

Happy Friday! These weeks are flying by! I can't believe Spring is around the corner! Finally!!

What I've been up to:

1. Last weekend, I checked out Vivio's in Warren. That place was hopping. When I eat out, I always go right when it opens, so there are fewer people. By the time we left, it was packed. No spacing at the bar which annoyed me, but I guess that was those people's choice to sit pretty much on top of each other. The food was okay, but they did have the best long island that I've ever had in my life. I see this place is definitely a local hangout. I won't be back anytime soon.

2. K wanted to see Chaos Walking. In other words, she wanted to see Tom Holland. The movie was pretty bad. I gave it a 2.5 out of 5. It seriously was weird and lacked a plot. Anyways, I wasn't there for the movie but the popcorn and goodies. I would say at most there were 8 people in the theater and no one near us. Which was super nice. So, I sat and shoved popcorn and candy into my mouth like it was no one's business.

3. I've so enjoyed the weather this week. I suffer from seasonal depression, and it's so weird because I have a crazy amount of motivation that I didn't have before, thanks to the longer days. I'm still going back and forth about eventually buying another rental someplace warm so I can get away from here during the winter to battle my seasonal depression.

4. With all of my newfound motivation, I've started working on scary basement again. I have a load to take to the Salvation Army. Also, Matt's employee cleaned out one of the rooms in the basement and started building shelves and painting. It smells so much better. Soon, I will be able to start putting my boxes on shelves. I hate living in a mess. It totally sets me off.

5. I love anything having to do with the Royals. I made the mistake of watching the Oprah interview with my husband. He stopped it every 5 minutes to make heated comments. Here is the thing. I was trapped before. I agreed to take care of a family member, not knowing she was mentally ill and abusive to us. I wasn't allowed to use the kitchen as needed or basically live my life like I normally do. I felt like I was suffocating, and each day lasted forever. I feel for Harry's wife. Until you've been in a situation, you really don't know how suffocating it is. I heard some people say, but she's living in luxury. It doesn't matter; being trapped is awful.

Mom Among Chaoshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02365163079333246404noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5721621440177482901.post-19556035478944712542021-03-05T08:29:00.000-05:002021-03-05T08:29:05.496-05:005 Things on Friday 3/5/21

Good morning! I'm sitting here with a cup of joe and reflecting on the week. I really enjoy this time with you, and it gives me a chance to be grateful.
What I've been up to:
1. My best bud and I hit Ann Arbor, and we went blowouts at Dry Bar. I went with the old-fashion style. At first, I didn't like it, but I loved it once the curls fell out a bit. I never make it one week. I think I made it 4 days before I washed it. We then had lunch at Bobcat Bonnie's in Ypsilanti. It was a good day.
2. I've been reading the Galveston Diet. Well, it's a series of videos and lectures. I'm rounding 46 and have noticed that I gain belly fat which I never did before. I started studying why this happens when we age. On top of counting my macros which I've been doing for years, I added intermittent fasting and made sure I was under my sugar goal. Plus, I started paying attention to make sure I received 25-35 grams of fiber per day. Whoa, I've been shocked by the results. I'm already down to my goal, plus my belly is back down to being almost flat. Shocked!!!
3. As many of you know, I've been selling Scentsy since September, and I've been pretty successful. Last week was pretty exciting because I gained my first recruit. Yay!!!!
4. Yesterday, I toyed around going back to school for a second degree as an ultrasound tech. They make good money (not that I need money), and it's a low-stress job. I'm the co-owner of a mobile home park; I own a beach rental and do all of the cleaning, plus my little Scentsy business. Honestly, I do not do much at the mobile home park. I tried to take over the billing a few times and butted heads with my spouse. I need to know this place inside and out just in case something happens to my husband. So, I've decided to dig in again. I guess it's not like I don't do anything here. Last summer, I had all new addresses made for our residents. I had no idea where to start, but I did it. Also, nailed reading meters. So exciting, LOL.
5. The girls bought a silk to hang in one of our barns. It's been getting them out of the house and out for some exercise. Yay!

Mom Among Chaoshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02365163079333246404noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5721621440177482901.post-14881322380768895652021-02-26T07:48:00.001-05:002021-02-26T10:57:11.827-05:005 Things on Friday 2/26/21

Good morning, friends! It's been a pretty uneventful week, but sometimes those are a blessing. Let me fill you in on the latest happenings.

What I've been up to:

1. Last week we had some friends over. It was one family; we're super cautious. We had a great time. Matt made his huge monster cookies and his chocolate mousse. The kids even came out of their dungeons to play games and be social. I kicked butt at Catan but the 4 kids kicked our butts at Code Names. I think as adults, we overthink things. I even managed to make it to midnight, which was shocking considering I'm usually out by 9 pm.

2. I found out that I have soft tissue damage on top of my sciatica. So, that means a longer recovery period. I'm at a month now and possibly need one more month to heal. Working out is my sanity. I've been doing very gentle exercises for my sciatica and walking an hour a day. I was told I could walk as long as I heated my injury first. I am healing. I can now sleep for a little bit on my side.

3. My parents are fully vaccinated, so my mom has walked over just about every day this week. It's been really nice.

4. Scary basement is progressing. The scary basement is a lifetime of other people's things that was just thrown down there for sixty years. It's been really hard moving into a house that's not empty. The basement makes me sick if I'm down there for more than a few minutes. Plus, every time I look at it, I get overwhelmed and shutdown. We have a full-time employee that is amazing. He's cleaned out one room and is getting ready to build me shelves to store all of my seasonal items.

5. My hair transformation has fully started. I picked up Olaplex shampoo, conditioner, and bonding to get my dyed part of my hair ready for bleach. I'm about 6 months into letting my hair go gray. My husband really loves gray hair. That and I'm tired of spending $200 every six weeks, and my roots are showing two weeks later. I love that I'm joining a group of brave women that are showing society who's boss.

Mom Among Chaoshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02365163079333246404noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5721621440177482901.post-9269189298331526552021-02-19T13:04:00.002-05:002021-02-26T07:26:26.555-05:005 Things on Friday 2/19/21

My days kind of blur together right now. I bet it's the same for a bunch of people right now. So, grab a cup of joe, and let's catch up.

What I've been up to this week:

1. I finished reading the book When We Were Vikings by Andrew David MacDonald. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. It's about a girl that is born with fetal alcohol syndrome. I really enjoyed the story that was told in her voice—also, all of the challenges she faced and what she overcame. There is lots of bad language and some uncomfortable topics, but it was good, and I loved the story's moral.

2. I've had to stop weight lifting and focus on healing my body. It sucks, and it's driving me nutty. I have been doing yoga and getting massages to heal my lower back and hamstrings. Also, I've had to learn to sleep on my back to relieve the pressure. I'm a side sleeper, so it hasn't been easy.

3. The girls have been taking silks lessons at Aerial Dragonfly in Ferndale. I've been so happy to get them out of the house and doing something good for them mentally and physically. They're so strong. I can't believe how well they do. The very first class, they both were flipping upside down and letting go.

4. I booked my long-awaited hair appointment this week. I've been giving gray hair a try. I made it nine months the first time before I messed it up with Overtone and ended up dying it. This time I'm about 6 months in. I've been waiting for my hair to grow so my hairstylist can see my natural hair pattern and match it to the rest of my hair. I know it won't be exact, but it will make my hair grow out so much easier. Right now, my hair is about 1/3 grown out. My natural hair color is a metal color. I sure hope I like it.

5. Last weekend Matt and I went up north for Valentine's weekend. We met up with some friends and had dinner at the Cadillac House. The Cadillac House was beautiful, but the food was just okay. I'm not sure I would go back.
Mom Among Chaoshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02365163079333246404noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5721621440177482901.post-64042070522558643722021-02-17T19:50:00.002-05:002021-02-17T19:50:57.754-05:00One Year of Pandemic Life

I don't even know where to start, but I haven't written anything in three months. Pandemic life has been odd, and I can't believe we're coming up on a year. Sometimes I wish I could go back in time and tell myself to be living it up. If you could whisper to yourself a month before this hit, what would you say to yourself?

Get on a plane right now and go someplace warm. Make sure to eat out as much as possible.

Spend time with your friends. You won't be seeing some people for quite a while.

Go see your parents as much as possible because you will become super cautious around them.

Allow your kids more freedom; they're about to go through something traumatic.

Go to so many movies that you start to tire of going.

Invest in Pfizer and Moderna.

Also, stock up on toilet paper!!!

I guess I'm over the part where I'm counting down the days to the end. It's just becoming a way of life at this point. New habits and lifestyles have been created. Would I go back to the way I was living before? I guess yes and no.

My life before the pandemic was non-stop; I was here and there and everywhere. When this first started, my stress level went way down, and my skin cleared up. I guess I didn't realize how much stress I was carrying around.

Here's what I miss! I miss going out to dinner with a group of friends, the movies, having parties, laughing over cocktails, not constantly worrying about someone getting sick, traveling without a ton of restrictions, and going on girl trips.

I mean, flat out, it's sucky. I've moved my Hawaii trip, canceled my Florida trip (well, we did take a mini trip). What sucks is it's my oldest daughter's senior year. She will never go to prom, nor did she get to go to homecoming. Am I bitter? No, just a little sad for my kids, but they're dealing with it the best that they can.

As I'm writing this, I'm so thankful that we've all been healthy. I know so many families that have lost a parent, a sibling, or they're dealing with complications from Covid-19. So, many people are hurting in so many ways.

I pray that an end is near. I also hope that there have been many blessings even in these dark times. They're always there. Just look around you.

Mom Among Chaoshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02365163079333246404noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5721621440177482901.post-48274477183986583912020-11-13T17:31:00.000-05:002020-11-13T17:31:01.798-05:005 Things on Friday 11/13/2020

Happy Friday! I usually write in the morning, so this feels odd to be sending this out in the evening. So, grab a martini, and let's catch up.

1. I've been working hard on changing my mindset on negative thoughts. I can seriously say it's made a difference all week. I've been combining this with using the "Secret" method. The Secret method is just pretty much-pretending something you want already exists.

2. Back in September, I started a Scentsy business. I decided I need something else besides the rental house that was just mine. Honestly, I've made direct sales before with no luck. This time, it's working really well. To the point that I'm almost shocked. Anyway, I'm glad that I have my own jobs to keep me busy. This girl is not about working outside with her husband, especially when it's cold. Brr!

3. I've spent many of my weekends in Lexington for the last month, getting my new beach house ready for rentals. I LOVE that this house is so much bigger and cozy. I also have storage space with a garage and two sheds, so I won't be lugging tons of stuff when I clean. Did I mention I finally have a washer/dryer and a dishwasher? So, much better. This house and area have a totally different vibe, though. I went from a house with an awesome water view, quiet, and the party street to something completely different. The Nauti House is closer to the road, but the beach is so much better. I will have insulation blown in and new windows to help soundproof in the next week or two.

4. Girl days are the best! Earlier this week, I went out to lunch and shopping with one of my besties. We had such a fabulous day!!!

5. I had a busy week. I put my youngest daughter back into public school. The paperwork and the running consumed most of my days this week. She seems so happy to be back. The homeschool program just wasn't working for her.

Mom Among Chaoshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02365163079333246404noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5721621440177482901.post-70720650937125247122020-11-12T15:10:00.001-05:002020-11-12T15:10:16.482-05:00 Hair Loss During Menopause: What Women Need to Know

<img alt="hair loss, menopause, women, over 50, hair, beauty" data-original-height="628" data-original-width="1200" height="336" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-n0HsqXJoGp4/X62UdXWwEPI/AAAAAAAAHkQ/xzgvrp_9GSsA0QlkpxtFwwS_muiEo_5tQCLcBGAsYHQ/w640-h336/pexels-skitterphoto-1171655.jpg" title="This blog post is sponsored. In some
instances, people experience hair loss due to a genetic predisposition to it,
proving it to be completely unrelated to other health factors. In other
instances, hair loss, is found to be a symptom of an underlying health
condition, a nutrient deficiency, or even a hormone imbalance.

<span style="color: black; mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri;">Women know that their hormones are in a semi-constant state of
flux. Monthly menstrual cycles cause symptoms of hormonal imbalance such as
mood instability and weight fluctuation, and when women go through more serious
hormonal conditions like pregnancy, inconsistencies in the natural hair growth
cycle can play a large role during the process.

production of progesterone and estrogen in the body, which are hormones known
to support the hair growth cycle and keep hair on your head for longer periods,
among many other functions. The decreased production of these hormones also
triggers the increased production of androgens, which are typically male
hormones that shrink hair follicles, leading to hair loss.

<span style="color: black; mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri;">Though hair loss during menopause can typically be linked to
hormonal changes, this isn’t always the whole story. Hair loss can often occur
due to high stress, lack of proper nutrition, and as a side effect of certain
illnesses and medications. Since menopause typically happens when a woman is in
her mid-50s, there is some likelihood that there may be other health-related
issues causing hair loss besides menopause itself.

Menopause: What You Can Do

<span style="color: black; mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri;">There are several options to consider when it comes to hair loss
prevention methods. Depending on the specific cause of your hair loss,
different methods will have different levels of effectiveness. Here are some of
the best ways to slow or stop your hair loss and support healthy hair regrowth
during menopause:

<span style="color: black; mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri;">Try a laser hair cap. <span style="color: black; mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri;">Depending
on the severity of your hair loss, you may have decided that the problem goes
beyond lifestyle factors. In cases like this, an <span style="color: #1155cc; mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri;">FDA-cleared laser cap<span style="color: black; mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri;"> can
help. These devices use low-level light therapy, an FDA-cleared hair growth
treatment, to slow the spread of hair loss and return hair follicles to a
healthy state in order to facilitate new hair growth. What’s more, laser hair
caps only need to be worn for 30 minutes every other day in order to see
results.

<span style="color: black; mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri;">Create an exercise routine. <span style="color: black; mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri;">We know
what you’re thinking, and no, exercise does not directly cause your hair to
grow. However, living an active lifestyle is one of the key ways to maintain
healthy hormonal balances, which can in turn reduce hair loss and even support
healthy hair growth over time. Whether you prefer lifting weights at the gym or
simply adding a long walk into your daily routine, regular exercise can lead to
improved hair appearance and thickness.

<span style="color: black; mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri;">Reduce your stress levels. <span style="color: black; mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri;">Stress
has virtually no positive effects, yet so many of us find ourselves victims of
it on a daily basis. Stress is another prime catalyst for hormone imbalance, so
the more you get your stress under control, the healthier your hair growth
cycle will be. Some common ways to reduce stress are meditating, journaling,
listening to music, and incorporating other self-care habits that you enjoy
into your day.

<span style="color: black; mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri;">Change your hairstyle. <span style="color: black; mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri;">Many
women feel a certain level of attachment to their long, beautiful locks.
However, the longer your hair is when menopausal hair loss starts to take
effect, the more noticeable the thinning will be. Many women have been able to
boost their self-confidence during periods of hair loss by switching to a
shorter hairstyle, which makes hiding thinning hair much easier than with long
tresses.

<span style="color: black; mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri;">Hydrate and eat well. <span style="color: black; mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri;">The
power of a healthy diet should never be underestimated. If you’re experiencing
hair loss during menopause, it may be due to nutrient deficiency even more than
hormonal imbalance. Make sure to incorporate lots of vitamins, minerals, and
protein into your diet through leafy greens, berries, legumes, and lean meats.
Make sure to compound this with several glasses of water per day, as this will
keep your hair looking and feeling healthy and hydrated.<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">

Even in fashion, architecture, and lifestyle, people are beginning to understand the beauty that lies in simplicity. Research says that decluttering and living a minimalist life, in general, can be beneficial to our mental health and well-being.

For instance, going home to a cluttered home after a long and stressful day at work can cause more stress. Furthermore, minimalism and decluttering can help us on our way to financial freedom. Since it is all about focusing on the things that you need and removing the garbage of life, it will make us focus our energy on our passions.

However, decluttering can be challenging, especially if you are living in a manufactured house and haven’t lived in one before. Here are some tips on how to declutter your house fast:

1. Learn to let go of things that you no longer use.

Like Marie Kondo, a Japanese tidying consultant who became well-known because of her books on decluttering and organizing, puts it, only keep things that “spark joy.” Doing so enables us to live the life that we truly want and envision. Once you’ve collected all items that do not spark joy, put them in boxes or in plastic bags, and then consider giving them to your family or friends who may want to have them. It’s also a good idea to donate.

2. Categorize your belongings

Marie Kondo suggests that we organize our belongings by categorizing them into the following:

- Clothes

- Books

- Papers (Categorize into 3 types: Papers that need attention, papers that are necessary for the short-term, and papers that are necessary indefinitely)

- Komono (Miscellaneous items- grooming products, kitchen utensils, beddings)

- Sentimental items

3. Invest in organizers (storage boxes, shelves, drawers, etc.)

As much as possible, make things look tidy and organized by purchasing organizers such as hikidashi boxes, which are great, especially for managing underwear items. You can try to declutter in 1-2 days, but this is easier said than done. It usually takes 5 to 7 days for deep decluttering and organizing. You may also want to try setting goals for each day of decluttering (for example, for the first day, you can focus on clothes and books, then another category in the next few days).

6. Label

Especially when it comes to garage and basement items, labeling can be a tremendous help!

Happy Friday! These summer days are becoming shorter and shorter, which breaks my heart. Grab a cup of joe, and let's catch up!

1. Almost two weeks ago, hubby came down with stomach issues and a headache. Of course, I made him go get tested for Covid-19. We were in the Lansing area for a weekend for karate, and even though everyone was outside and wearing a mask all weekend, you just never know. He came back negative. During this time, I ended up sick with cold-like symptoms, and so I went and was tested and was negative. It's so sad to think that every single time we get sick, that nasty virus will be in the back of our minds.

2. We've been trying to upgrade our beach house all summer. We've had two houses we bid over asking and still lost out on. God has had our back without a doubt. I just happened to look at Zillow a few weeks ago, which I haven't done in a long time. There sat a cute house with a garage, fantastic porch, dishwasher, private backyard, washer, and dryer, plus more storage and bedrooms—every single item I have had on my wish list. We made an offer, and I had zero hope. I really didn't even think much about it like I did the others. That evening I got a text that our offer has been accepted and was in shock. The inspection went well, and now just waiting on all of the little details. I decided to put my other house up for sale as soon as the appraisal comes back. I could keep them both, but the business sucks up so much of our time. I want less instead of more.

3. We've been getting ready for school mode. K is starting homeschool this year. F has already started her college classes. She has a lot on her plate this year with finishing her senior year and 2 college classes.

4. Everything has calmed back down with the dogs. My dog Izzy tried to kill my chihuahua a few weeks ago. Sophie had broken ribs, stitches, and her lungs were affected. I thought about putting evil sister (Izzy) down. I couldn't do it. We now keep them completely separated. Izzy even has her own section of the house, and I rotate who gets to be in the central part of the house. Izzy doesn't have many years left, so I just couldn't bring my heart to doing it.

5. I have worked out 5 days a week since March. Because I had a fever, I allowed myself to take a week off. Let me tell you it was hard. When you fall into a routine, it's hard to get off. I even forced myself to take the Fitbit off because I had noticed my fitness level went down. Nope, it's okay to rest your body. I will be back at it on Monday.Mom Among Chaoshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02365163079333246404noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5721621440177482901.post-76128328489409307802020-08-12T19:38:00.001-04:002020-08-13T18:56:48.258-04:00Amazon Favorites Part 1

I'm going to blurt it out. I love Amazon. I love shopping and getting a surprise delivered to my door to brighten my day. So, I'm going to tell you about some of my favorite purchases on Amazon!

Amazon Favorites Part 1

Keebos is a sleek crossbody phone holder. It also has a storage place for your credit cards. I like this because you don't have to carry your purse with you. It makes getting out of the car quick and easy. Not to mention, there are tons of places that I don't want to be lugging a purse. The design is fashionable and comes in a variety of colors and fits many phones!

A few months ago, I discovered Hempz lotions. The scents are fabulous. I have trouble deciding which is my favorite, and so do my girls. I guess we just love them all. The lotion is light and makes your skin super silky. The lotion has more of a natural light scent. If you're like me and don't like overpowering scents, this is a wonderful choice.

These are seriously my favorite socks. They don't slip or slide, and they last a long time. These are not the socks that you will lose inside of your shoe or boot. Nope, not at all. Plus, they're a great price!

I have cystic acne. My skin stays clear until that time of the month. I just discovered these. Not only do these stickers cover up big red sores, but they also bring everything to the surface and suck it out like a vampire. Yes, I know it's gross, but it works well.
