Ringling Bros. & Barnum & Bailey® presents Dragons Review

Stephanie and Crystal had the honor of attending Ringling Bros. & Barnum & Bailey® presents Dragons. We arrived early for special blogger access. We were so excited that we could hardly contain ourselves. As you can see from the photo above, we met the Ringmaster, Johnathan Lee Iverson.

We had our families with us and we all got to ask him questions. Crystal's husband asked, "How did you come to work for Ringling Bros. & Barnum Bailey?" As luck would have it the Ringmaster's job came to him by accident. They found him working at a dinner theater. We found out that he has now been with the company for over 15 years and that his wife and kids travel with him. He has been Ringmaster for 5 different themed tours. Between tours the company takes a winter break in Florida where they learn the next tour theme.

We came away feeling that Ringling Bros. & Barnum Bailey is a family. Some people that work there are born into it. Some of the clowns were runaways as youths. They all love each other and the animals like family.

After our meeting with the Ringmaster, we attended the pre-show, which anyone can attend before the show. Get there early, it is worth it to be down on the floor, up close with the performers. There were so many different things going on including a clown show, goat & llama act, Shaolin Kung Fu Warriors, dog performance, and an Asian elephant doing tricks like catching a football and painting. We were lucky enough to have our daughters get chosen to work with the clowns on stage. An experience neither girl will likely forget.
This was the best show I have ever seen. The stunts were spectacular. I was literally on the edge of my seat. I had two favorite parts. One was simply watching the elephant. She was just so beautiful and majestic to watch. I was truly moved by her.
The second was the tigers and lions. I nearly fell over when I saw the lion. I felt like I was looking at Simba, from The Lion King. He was so gorgeous. You can tell the trainer has a very special relationship with the animals.
Did you know that Michigan is the last stop for the Dragons tour? This production has been going on for 2 years and the show ends here. So don't miss taking your family to the Greatest Show on Earth. We highly, highly recommend going. You will not regret it!
