I love Mexican food. Heck, food in general. Stephanie and I had the pleasure of checking out Del Taco in Roseville, Michigan. I had seen Del Taco many times while traveling to different states, but I never noticed that Del Taco was in Michigan and had been in Michigan for ten years. Hello, where have I been? Oh yeah, I've been busy helping my kids with Common Core, which I hate! Anyway, let us tell you about our experience at Del Taco!
Del Taco started as a small business in Yermo, California in 1964. The tacos in 1964 were only 19 cents! When we arrived, I had my work cut out for me looking at such an extensive menu that also included fries, hamburgers, and shakes. These items are not your typical Mexican fare.

Stephanie and I were invited to try the new handcrafted "Ensaladas". They looked amazing! The three new salads are Chicken Bacon Avocado Salad, Mexican Chopped Chicken Salad, and Signature Taco Salad. You can choose whether you want the Salsa Casera, Cilantro Pepita Ranch, or ranch on your salad. You don't have to choose the same dressing that the salad comes with on the menu.
Pictured above is the Chicken Bacon Avocado Salad, one of the three salads we tried.  It included freshly grilled chicken, hand sliced avocado, crispy bacon pieces, handmade pico de gallo, chopped cilantro, and crunchy tortilla chips are layered over our fresh romaine and iceberg lettuce blend. Served with a side of Cilantro Pepita Ranch. This was my personal favorite. I'm a big fan of bacon, chicken, and avocado. I really liked the Cilantro Pepita Ranch. It was a different taste. I'm a huge fan of cilantro!
Next up, is the Signature Taco Salad. I love taco salad. The taco salad includes seasoned beef, hand-grated cheddar cheese, fresh sliced avocado, seasoned black beans, handmade pico de gallo, chopped cilantro, cool sour cream, and crunchy tortilla chips are layered over our fresh romaine and iceberg lettuce blend. Served with a side of Salsa Casera. I liked the taco salad, but I wasn't a big fan of the Salsa Casera.
Finally, we have the Mexican Chopped Chicken Salad. It includes freshly grilled chicken, hand sliced avocado, seasoned black beans, spicy jack cheese, handmade pico de gallo, chopped cilantro, and crunchy tortilla chips are layered over our fresh romaine and iceberg lettuce blend. Served with a side of Salsa Casera. Again, I would have picked a different dressing, but I loved how fresh thhis salad is.
For dessert, we had Carmel Cheesecake Bites. Let me tell you the picture doesn't do this dessert justice. These were fabulous little pieces of heaven. It totally was not good for my diet, but I ate the whole thing and enjoyed every second of it.
Do you know what sets Del Taco apart from the competition? You're not just getting beans out of a bag, they cook for 4 hours. Everything is freshly made! Just look at the picture of all the items made daily. Amazing!

Would we recommend Del Taco? Yes, I love that it's fresh, has an extensive menu, and modestly priced!
