Confessions of a Prodigal Son is a coming of age movie. It's about that age most of us go through when we want to discover ourselves and not listen to a word our parents say. Sean (Nathan Clarkson) grew up with a father who is a pastor. He felt that his family completely controlled his life, so Sean takes off with half of his college money to make his way in the world. He does not talk to his parents for two years while he is living the life he chooses to live.

"Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother which is the first commandment with a promise." Ephesians 6:1-2

While attending school, Sean is living it up drinking and not giving college his 100% attention. Sean finally hits rock bottom and begins to turn his life around due to speeches given from one of his instructors.

"Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." Luke 23:34

Would I recommend this movie? Yes, I would recommend it for high school kids and up. Even though this film is not rated I would not let my children watch it. This movie contains lots of partying and drinking that I wouldn't want a young child watching. However, there is no foul language. I love the concept of the movie. The parents let their child go even though it broke their hearts. I would give this movie three out of five stars.
