My kids and I first saw Gnomeo and Juliet many years ago when we were on a Disney Cruise. We all loved it. It started my fascination with garden gnomes in my yard. So, I couldn't wait to check out Sherlock Gnomes.

Sherlock Gnomes Review

The beloved garden gnomes from GNOMEO AND JULIET are back for a whole new adventure in London. When Gnomeo and Juliet first arrive in the city with their friends and family, their biggest concern is getting their new garden ready for spring. However, they soon discover that someone is kidnapping garden gnomes all over London. When Gnomeo and Juliet return home to find that everyone in their garden is missing – there’s only one gnome to call… SHERLOCK GNOMES. The famous detective and sworn protector of London’s garden gnomes arrive with his sidekick Watson to investigate the case. The mystery will lead our gnomes on a rollicking adventure where they will meet all new ornaments and explore an undiscovered side of the city. This action-packed sequel features the voices of returning cast, James McAvoy, Emily Blunt, Michael Caine, Maggie Smith, Stephen Merchant and Ozzy Osbourne, plus Johnny Depp as Sherlock Gnomes, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Watson and Mary J. Blige as IreneDirected by John Stevenson. PARAMOUNT PICTURES Rated PG.

Sherlock Gnomes was not anywhere close to being fantastic as the first movie. My whole family was unfortunately disappointed. Sherlock Gnomes lacked the originality that the first movie offered along with the humor.

Yes, the movie had some cute parts but nothing that would hold your attention for 90 minutes. Also, I saw this film in 3D. The special effects were cool. At one point I thought it was actually raining in the movie theatre. It was incredibly realistic

I guess I expected more from these characters that I grew to love. The characters didn't seem as colorful as the first movie. This movie did have potential to be great, but I found the plot and characters lacking. Yes, I'm aware it's a kids film, and my kids are older, but I still found myself bored.

Would I recommend seeing this film? Yes, I recommend checking it out when it comes to DVD. We give this film 2.5 stars out of 5. All four of us agreed on the rating.
