5 Things on Friday 3/26/2021

Good morning! It's finally spring, and it was nice to wake up to the sound of rain. Let's catch up!

Here's what I've been up to:

1. Last weekend, I breathed a HUGE sigh of relief. I had my first Covid shot. I had some pretty bad arm soreness, and my heart rate has been higher than normal, which means my body is creating antibodies. I also was a little more tired than normal, but YAY!

2. Matt and I went up north for a few days last weekend. It was really nice. We went out to eat, had dessert, massages, and the weather was fantastic. I couldn't have asked for a better weekend. I did, of course, have work to do while I was up there. I'm still getting the house ready for the rental season.

3. I have been preparing for almost a year and a half to have the rest of my hair turned gray for the rest of my grow-out. I had it done this week. They bleached the rest of my hair and turned it silver. I was astonished that I only had to take an inch and a half off my length. I still have a few more years of trimming and growing it out, but it looks so much better. I have to admit that I was in shock right afterward, and it's taking me a little while to get used to it. I've had mostly dark hair my whole life.

4. I finished reading a fantastic book called The Secret Life of Addie Larue. If you're looking for a good read this is it. It does start off slow but it picks up and becomes interesting. I would have to give it 4.5 out of 5 stars. This is the best book I've read so far this year.

5. K has been on a baking frenzy this week. She made garlic bread from scratch and beignets. Both were really good. I love that she's found some new passions. Doing school online gets lonely for these kids.
